MCHS XC Week #11, last NBL meet vs. Casa and Windsor at Spring Lake!

What: Last NBL meet vs. Casa and Windsor!
When: First race 3:45 JV Girls > JV Boys > Varsity Girls > Varsity Boys
Where: Spring Lake boat dock
Volunteers scheduled to help with finish chute/course monitoring ; be at the boat dock by 2:45:

HELP!  ...We could use 2-3 more people to help with this meet, please contact Greg ASAP!

5 Reasons why YOU should be there Wednesday! 

1) This is the last NBL meet of the season before the NBL Championships next Friday!   
2) Both Casa and Maria Carrillo Varsity and JV teams are undefeated, 5-0 in 2014 NBL XC meets; it's going to be an exciting competition!
3) The weather is going to be nice, high 70s
4) Lots of our athletes should PR, come see them all run faster than they've ever ran before!
5) The MCHS XC team needs your support, enthusiasm and encouragement and besides, definitely more fun than staying at work  ;)

What's coming up for week #10: NBL meet #3 vs. Newman/Ukiah and Saturday Fundraising

Week #10, what's coming up:

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 22:

MCHS Hosts NBL #3 meet on the MCHS campus vs. Newman and Ukiah

-Only running two races:
Combined Girls, then combined Boys
Event Schedule:
2:30 MCHS XC athletes released from class
2:45 Walking the campus course
3:45 Combined Girls race start
~4:15 Combined Boys race start 
...Should be all done by 4:45

NOTE: There will be a JV Boys soccer game going on at the same time (starting at 4PM), so we could use 1-2 more people to help watch the front gate and guide/watch over spectators as runners take to the course to ensure we don't get in each others way...

Race Volunteers helping on this day (signed up way back in August) to be there by no later than 3PM to help with the finish chute and work with Greg positioned at specific points on our course to ensure kids don't get lost:

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25:

Healdsburg 1/2 Marathon Fundraiser; need at least 30 athlete volunteers to run 3 different aid stations!
-This fundraiser brings ~$1000 to our team!
-Primary duties include setting up, handing out water to runners and cleaning up (very simple!)
-I still need to finalize driving plans AND NEED TWO ADULTS to help out/supervise for Aid Station #1 and #5 (e-mail or text Greg if you can help)
-I have established this tentative schedule for athletes to volunteer as follows:

Plans for Crystal Springs this Saturday!

Final plans for this Saturday's meet at CRYSTAL SPRINGS INVITE!

-Note,  we are NOT going to Clovis Invite as per our original schedule.

6:30 AM Bus leaves MCHS parking lot
~8:15 AM Arrive at Crystal Springs XC Course, Belmont (just in time for Boys JV warm-ups!)
9:00 AM - 1:30 AM Racing!
(We will have a quick lunch/sandwiches at the meet and leaving at 2:00 from this meet) lunch at the
2:15-2:30 PM Leave Crystal Springs XC Site
4:30-5:00 PM Arrive back at MCHS

...Sorry, due to the late schedule, many kids that need to get back early for homecoming prep and anticipating there may be traffic getting over the GG bridge due to Fleet Week, we're skipping going to the beach this year!

Meet Highlights:  Course Address: 2600 Hallmark Dr, Belmont, CA 94002

The meet is sanctioned by the Central Coast Section for all schools in California.
The Crystal Springs Course is 2.95 miles of rolling hills, all run on trails. The layout of
the course is excellent for both runners and spectators. Chemical toilets and drinking
fountains are available at the course. A full snack bar will be in operation as in past
years. We will again be selling the traditional, long-sleeved, Crystal Springs Invitational
T-shirts. There are no dressing rooms, so have athletes arrive ready to compete.
To cover the increased cost of course maintenance, and overall functionality of
the meet, admission will be charged at the entrance gate. All coaches and athletes may
enter at no cost. The cost of all Adults and Children 10 and over will be $2. Coaches
please pass on the information to your parents.
Please respect the private property in the area. Do not go on to people’s
property to get water or for any other reason. Please do not block people’s driveways.

-Note:  Greg will announce roster on Monday for this meet; some Varsity runners will not race and do workout at regular time (3:30 start at MCHS Track)
Logistics:
-Dismissed from class 1:45
-Bus driving one-way, leaving MCHS 2PM,
-Will run only 2 races, Girls at 3:45 and Boys at 4:30, should be done by 5:00

Saturday, 10/11/14: Crystal Springs Invite (note this is a change from original schedule; we are NOT going to the Clovis Invite in Fresno)
Logistics: 
-Leaving MCHS 6:30AM
-Taking 1 bus round-trip to Crystal Springs Invite, returning ~5PM (TBD if we are going to stop by the beach in SF for a picnic or need to get back in time for others to get ready for Homecoming)
