Tahoe Running Camp Update = Almost Full!

OK, here's the latest update for the 2012 Tahoe Running Camp Roster = 8/2 - 8/7 Zephyr Cove Campground:

...We already have more on our "verbal confirmation" list than we have spaces; the FINAL ROSTER is determined based on a first-come/first serve basis on who pays their camp fee first ($100 per Runner / $70 for Alumni) and we're limiting enrollment to 65 runners + 15 alumni max.

NOTE: I'm still holding 5 spots for RVMS XC Runners (incoming 2012 MCHS 9th graders) as they just found out about this camp and need to give them more time to confirm.

The 2012 Tahoe Running Camp is now open for sign-ups!

Details:

Camp has been extended from 4 days to 5 this year!

Thursday, 8/2/12 = Leaving MCHS 10AM (show-up 8:45AM)
Tuesday, 8/7/12 = Returning to MCHS ~2PM
-Note: 7/30/12 = Camp Planning Meeting at the Fogg's 6-7:30PM

Cost = $100 per person (make checks payable/mail to Greg Fogg)
-Includes all food + fees + camp T-shirt
-Special rate for Tahoe Running Camp Alumni who are willing to help as Camp Counselors = $70

...Many of you have probably heard about the upcoming PAC Annual Crab Feed event:

NBL Finals:

-MCHS JVs dominate NBL Championships!
-Varsity Girls win NBL pennant for 8th year in a row!
-Varsity Boys come up big to claim 2nd place behind State ranked Piner!
-Great performances all around! ...32 PRs on the Spring Lake course!

Maria Carrillo Alumna Leanne Fogg Qualifies for 2011 NCAA XC Championships!

Exciting news over the weekend at the NCAA Western Regional Qualifying Meet at Stanford - Cal Poly senior and Maria Carrillo grad Leanne Fogg qualified for the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in Terra Haute, Indiana on November 21.  Coach Greg will be catching a flight directly after the NCS Meet in Hayward to watch the meet live!

Only 4 runners qualified "at large" (individual runners not qualifying with a team) from the Western Region.  Leanne steadily moved up at least 10 spots in the last 2000 meters of the race to finish 2nd among at large runners.  By finishing 16th overall, Leanne became the first Cal Poly woman ever to qualify for the NCAA Division I championships. The race was won by Oregon's Jordan Hasay.  Click here to see highlight video (you can see Leanne at 1:50 mark).

Leanne currently holds the #6 spot on the all-time list of MCHS runners at the Spring Lake Course with a PR of 18:06 in 2004.
