MCHS XC PROGRAM OVERVIEW and GENERAL INFORMATION

Highlights of our Program:
- Daily Practices: 3:00 – 4:45 on Monday; 3:30 – 5:15 rest of the week
- Practice Locations: MCHS, Montecito Park, Spring Lake, Annadel, Howarth Park
- Race distances: 2 miles, 3 miles or 5K (3.1 miles)
- Training: 5-7 miles/day or 25-40 miles/wk, depending on fitness level
- Varsity: Top ~10-12 Varsity roster; All remaining athletes make  JV roster
- Earning your MCHS XC Jersey: 3200m time trial 14:00/Boys; 16:30/Girls
- Pasta Feeds: 10 events at homes night before most competitions
- Roster: Can join the team up to the first two weeks of the new school year
- Competition: Starts early Sep through Mid-Nov, includes 4-6 XC Invitational meets during season (both JV and Varsity attend invites)
